05:38 pm - All About Eve fic, "What can there be to know...?" Eve/Addison, Adult
Hi. *waves* This is my first post here, and I think it's appropriate and in line with the comm rules. If not, please let me know.

Title: What can there be to know...?
Fandom/Pairing: All About Eve (1950), Eve Harrington/Addison DeWitt
Length: About 3400 words
Rating: Adult
Warnings: Dubious consent, dubious circumstances, dubious motives. This is not a nice relationship, these people are damaged and not nice; content could trigger some.
Notes: I haven't written much fanfiction, and this is my first dive into an obscure fandom (I can't really find anything out there from this film). It helps to have seen the film to understand better what's going on. If you're interested, I put links in my story post to both the film (in it's entirety!) on youtube and to the All About Eve wiki page.

03:26 pm - New Hamlet Fic: "Epitaph" - Horatio, Fortinbras, Players - PG13
Title: Epitaph
Fandom: Hamlet
Rating: PG-13
Characters: Horatio, Fortinbras, Players
Notes: I can blame this one on a fever-dream I had on the train. That's about all.
Summary: Good my lord, will you see the players well bestowed? Do you hear, let them be well used, for they are the abstract and brief chronicles of the time. After your death you were better have a bad epitaph than their ill report while you live.

(The news had come suddenly, borne on the shrieks of servants in the corridors.)

09:52 am - Here's a bit of breezy, summery Andy/Red for the 4th.
Title: For What It's Worth
Fandom: The Shawshank Redemption
Notes: This follows And We Drown, per innocentsmith's request.
Summary: Life goes on, albeit slowly—and that's just fine with Red.

05:59 pm - Summer Nicholas/Danny ficlet for your enjoyment:
(House Call - Nicholas/Danny, Nicholas's Mum - PG13)

02:55 am - New fic for My Beautiful Laundrette: "Full Circle" - Omar/Johnny - R
Title: Full Circle
Fandom: My Beautiful Laundrette
Pairing: Omar/Johnny, plus other peripheral cast-members.
Rating: R
Notes: I'm not sure what to say. I saw the film for the first time yesterday evening, loved it, and stayed up into the wee hours of the morning just to bang this out. That's all there is to say. To the best of my knowledge, there's no other fic for this film on the web. Please, please prove me wrong. Oh: it will definitely help if you've seen the film, trust me, as a lot of these scenes happen in the film and are so loaded with between-the-lines electricity that I couldn't resist getting my fingers caught in the proverbial clockwork.
Summary: This is a story about why learning to recognize your own motives for what they are is a good thing. Better you learn before it's too late, even if barely in the nick of time.

(That was how it started: in one stark, breathtaking moment that could have got them both killed.)

06:41 pm - Good Omens/Hot Fuzz Crossover: "Just Like Home" - PG13 - Ensemble Cast
Title: Just Like Home
Fandoms: Good Omens / Hot Fuzz
Rating: PG-13
Characters & Pairings: Ensemble Cast, all the shades of Aziraphale/Crowley & Nicholas/Danny you care to read, etc.
Notes: This fine mess is a long time coming. My headspace is multi-trauma central right now, so my hope is that combining my two biggest comfort-fandoms will bring some relief. Special thanks to squeeful, miss_morland, and annlarimer for being particularly evil enablers. Not that I need much enabling.
Summary: The Lower Tadfield Police Station needs inspecting. Any questions?

(Fortunately, the drive was only going to take an hour and a half.)

09:19 pm - New Hot Fuzz fic: "Proper Action (and Shakespeare)" - Nicholas/Danny - R
Title: Proper Action (and Shakespeare)
Fandom: Hot Fuzz
Pairing: Nicholas/Danny
Rating: R
Notes: There's a sliver of lost time between Nicholas and Danny leaving the Romeo & Juliet venue's pub and when we see Nicholas awakened by (presumably) Fisher's phonecall in his hotel room. Thinking about that led to an isolated snippet that, once I'd written it down, seemed like a good starting-point for a slightly longer piece. Enter sleeplessness, wine-imbibing, and a stroll down memory lane with some of the Bard's other classics - and, if necessary, reinterpretations thereof. Voilà. My apologies to Dire Straits, to whom, unlike HF's fearless director, I cannot afford to pay royalties for making use of lyrics from their "Romeo and Juliet."
Summary: An homage to what proper action is - or isn't - about.

(Proper action and...)

07:01 pm - (Not-So-)New Hot Fuzz Fic: "Tokens of Affection" - Nicholas/Danny - R
Title: Tokens of Affection
Fandom: Hot Fuzz
Pairing: Nicholas/Danny
Rating: R
Notes: I'm relatively new to this fandom, but loving every minute of it - so thanks, panjianlien, for providing me with such a fantastically open-ended Yuletide request on which to continue cutting my teeth!
Summary: Gifts, white lies, and other assorted romantic holiday mayhem.

01:17 am - New Toy Soldiers Fic: "Words to Remember" - Billy/Joey - R
Title: Words to Remember
Fandom: Toy Soldiers
Pairing: Billy/Joey
Rating: R
Notes: When twilightgardens gives me a song, she knows exactly what she's doing. When she gave me Iron & Wine's "The Trapeze Swinger" about a week ago, I'm sure she anticipated my reaction nearly to the letter. I can't explain this song, and I can't really explain what it's done to me, either. In theory, that's what this story is for. You don't have to track down the song and listen to it, but it might be worthwhile if you're wondering about the subtitles of the sections (minor modifications mine).
Summary: A vision too removed to mention.

(Words to Remember)

07:12 pm - "Staring Right Back" - Nicholas/Danny - R
Title: Staring Right Back
Fandom: Hot Fuzz
Pairing: Nicholas/Danny
Rating: R
Notes: This is a companion piece to Eye of the Beholder. Enough said. The requests for Nicholas's POV were resounding, and I'm still on bed-rest. It's a win-win situation.
Summary: What bothers Nicholas is - well, you'll find out.

(Staring Right Back)
